I thought I was 2 weeks further then what I was, but according to my dating scan I was only 9 weeks and 4 days, when I thought I was 12weeks. In the rest of my scans she measured to what she should have been by the scan dates. Until 34weeks when she started measuring behind until 38 weeks. At 38 weeks she was measuring ahead!
Just wondering, should I be treating myself as due on 19th April now? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

They do usually use the dating scan date. They just won't use the date from later scans because babies grow different from here on. My doctor used my dates not the dating scan.

Dating scan only put me back two days though. I think if there is something like 5 days difference they change it. I've been dated two days ahead as well.

I think having a later date is better personally, I'm expecting to go late my mother delivered all 4 of us days late so an earlier date means more people wondering why I haven't had the baby yet lol. My GP went off my dating scan. It only put me back 1 day from LMP.

So, I'd like to know how accurate scans people have found their scans, and how often women really have an absolutely normal period during pregnancy? I'm mostly concerned as I'm keen to let the pregnancy progress naturally, and that this EDD would impact on dr's opinions on how overdue I might get.

Hi, at my last scan the sonographer told me the dates can 5 days either side.
I have been measuring by bump about 3 weeks ahead throughout also, all they tried to put it down to was gestational diabetes but my blood test last week confirmed I am all clear. I wish I had done more at the beginning to make them listen to me.

At the 20week scan they said she was measuring a week ahead and changed my due date. I explained why this wasn't possible as it meant I conceived a week before I actually had sex and I was worried about the baby being bigger than it should be.
My dates stayed the same even though measurements were out slightly and I went into labour the day after my due date! My hospital went off the scan measurements too.
Same for me,I was given the 17th Jan as due date by IVF in vitro fertilization clinic but at 12 week scan they changed it to 13th Jan. With my dd dear daughter they moved me from the 3rd to the 10th. It's interesting how different hospitals vary.
