Her first task: reviving the Blue and Gold student newspaper at Riverdale High. This also happens:. He assures a frantic Betty that she will not become her family. They kiss for the first time but instead of fully enjoying the moment, Betty immediately thinks of searching the car that Jason had stashed for himself and Polly when he was alive. Jughead walks Betty home that night, in the rain, holding hands.
Ahead of March 4's new episode, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted a photo that really seems to feature Archie and Betty kissing. While the kissers are not entirely visible in the photo, Betty's iconic ponytail is clear, and they are locking lips in Riverdale High's music room, which is where Archie loves to hang out. It also is not clear who is taking a sneaky pic of Archie and Betty's makeout session, but judging from the red sleeve, Cheryl Blossom may be the prime suspect.
Regardless of whoever snapped that pic, it looks like it is going to stir up trouble sooner rather than later; in another photo shared by Aguirre-Sacasa, Veronica is shown confronting Betty and Archie about something on a phone. It definitely seems like Veronica saw the kissing pic and is not too happy about it. Riverdale has actually been dropping hints that Archie and Betty may get together this season for a while now - namely, in a flash-forward from several weeks back, in which Archie and Betty got very close while he was comforting her over Jughead's apparent death.
Of course, this hook-up would mean major things for the Core Four. It could lead to Archie and Veronica breaking up, and although Jughead is supposedly dead now, if he really is secretly alive like some fans think, then he will definitely not be happy to learn Betty moved on so quickly, and with his best friend at that. Or, maybe this is just another part of some bigger plan to trick the Stonewall Prep students Whatever is going on, Riverdale fans should prepare for some major romantic shakeups very soon.
To further investigate what really happened surrounding Jason Blossom 's death on the 4th July, Betty reopened the Riverdale High School newspaper, the Blue and Gold and convinced Jughead, and his well-found journalist skills, to join her. For his first assignment, Betty mentioned that there was one person no one had been talking about who was at Sweetwater River on July 4th: Dilton Doiley and his scouts.
Jughead visited Dilton and asked him if he had heard the gunshot that morning.
Dilton insisted that neither he nor his boy scouts heard anything unusual on that day. Jughead, upon hearing this, was not convinced.
He noticed one of Dilton's scouts eyeing him from a distance and later on, sought out that same scout sitting at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe who confessed that the gunshot, in fact, originated from Dilton himself, while he was secretly teaching the scouts how to shoot.
Once caught, Dilton was willing to compromise with Betty and Jughead. They were to leave Dilton out of the murder case and forget that it had been him who shot the gun, which in exchange, he offered them a better story- Dilton saw Geraldine Grundy 's car by the lakeside early that morning.
With the Twilight Drive-In closing, Jughead was furious as the drive-in was very special to him and thought the residents should be trying to save it, which he tried to explain to BettyVeronicaand Kevin at Pop's.
Jughead struggled over which film he should play for the closing night, and he asked the group, who he had already invited to attend, for suggestions. He ultimately went with Betty's: " Rebel Without a Cause. Come morning it was revealed that Jughead was homeless and had been living out of the drive-in's projection booth, and his father FP Joneswas a member of the Southside Serpents. At the Blue and Gold offices, Jughead, Betty, and Kevin reconstructed Sheriff Keller 's murder board that had been previously destroyed.
Unfortunately, the police had no suspects for the break-in, there weren't any fingerprints, and they had no leads. Their conversation was interrupted by Trev Brownwho had come by to confirm a date with Betty that evening, which made Jughead look very jealous.
However, after Trev left, Betty said that the date was just a way to get more information on Jason, who had been close friends with Trev. Since they couldn't ask Jason or the Blossoms, they decided to use Jason's memorial as an excuse to dig around Thornhill for clues. Just before they go to Thornhill, Jughead comes round Betty's house to pick her up, and both of them seem to approve of each others attire, although Jughead subtly blushes as Betty 'checks him out'.
Following an emotional eulogy from Cheryl, Jughead and Betty snuck away during the commotion and made their way to Jason's room. Unbeknownst to either of them, Rose BlossomJason's grandmother, who had been sitting in the dark corner of the room in her wheelchair, startled them. However, she mistakenly took Betty for Polly and unknowingly revealed to them that Polly and Jason had secretly become engaged.
As more secrets from Betty's family came to light, Jughead believed that her parents knew more than they were letting on and wondered how far her they would go to protect Polly. Whoever broke into Sheriff Keller's house was not at the drive-in, and coincidentally, Betty's father hadn't been there that night.
With that being said, they added the Cooper family's name to the board and decided the time had come to find Polly. In an attempt to find out where Polly was hidden away, Betty invited Jughead over for breakfast. Alice accused Jughead of being the reason that Betty was obsessed with the investigation of Jason Blossom 's death. However, Betty quickly stated that it had been her idea to publish it in The Blue and Gold.
After a look from Betty, Jughead then asked for directions to the bathroom, and as planned, Alice escorted him, which provided a long enough distraction for Betty to go through her mother's purse and take photos of her check book.
At The Blue and Gold, after doing a little digging, Betty and Jughead discovered one of the checks were sent to the Sisters of Quiet Mercya group home for troubled youths. After she returned from the institution, Betty was alone in her room when Jughead knocked on her window after climbing up a ladder.
She smiled and opened the window to which he quipped, "Hey there, Juliet"before climbing in. After a brief conversation, Betty confided in Jughead about her feelings towards her parents, sister, and even herself.
He calmly helped her through it and told her that she is not her family. Jughead then kissed Betty, to which she smiled and he deeply exhaled, before Betty remembering that earlier Polly had told her about a car Jason had kept for them out by an old maple farm sign on Route 40 and it might still be hidden there, to which Jughead is humorously shocked that she changed the subject so quickly.
That night, they found the car, hidden under a tarp and filled with Jason's things, including his varsity jacket, as well as plenty of drugs. They took pictures and alerted Sheriff Keller, all the while as they were unknowingly being watched by someone hidden in the woods. The authorities arrived only to find the vehicle had been set on fire. Jughead and Betty then raced to rescue Polly from the group home but found that her room was empty, the window broken and blood coated the glass. After being forced out of the drive-in, Jughead secretly moved into Riverdale High, taking over a small forgotten closet under a staircase, where one morning he dreamed a strange 50s style dream in which he is married to Betty, Jason Blossom is alive and the Coopers are loving parents who approve of both their daughters relationships.
In the dream, the family as well as Veronica and Archie were sitting down to a big turkey dinner and as Jughead started to carve the bird, the knife disappears from his hand. Archie then walked up and calmly asked, "Dude, why'd you stab me in the back? That same morning his living situation is found out by Archie. Jughead then asked him not to tell anyone, especially not Betty, which confused Archie who wondered why Betty would care. Betty became stressed and clearly worried about how Polly could be hurt and how the person who killed Jason could be after Polly too.
To comfort her, Jughead put his arm around her shoulder and Betty reached to hold his hand, which surprised Veronica and confused Archie.
Jughead and betty hook up
Archie caught up with Jughead in the hall afterward and asked if there was something going on between the two of them and Jughead hesitantly replied that they may have had a moment. Flustered, Archie cuts him off and changes the subject, clearly not happy with the answer he got. At the other end of the hall, Veronica also asked Betty about Jughead and Betty smiled and gushed that Jughead had really been there for her through the trouble with her family the past few days.
Veronica was excited for her and gave her approval. To find Polly, Jughead and Betty organized a search of Eversgreen Forest together, which was interrupted by the Blossoms and ultimately unsuccessful. As Jughead walked her home afterward, holding hands, he struggled to define their relationship. Jughead reassured her she did the right thing, that it was her parents who were the ones in the wrong for keeping the truth from Polly.
Betty then told him how Polly once ran away before when she was nine after a big fight with their mother, Jughead asked how far she got, which led to her realizing where Polly had gone to hide. Thankful and excited, Betty kissed Jughead and said goodnight before quickly rushing home, as Jughead smiled all the while. At the Cooper House Betty found Polly hiding up in the attic.
Archie then looked taken aback and a bit jealous. Sheriff Keller unfairly suspected him as the killer due to his background and being from the 'wrong side of the tracks'. Betty was allowed to speak to Jughead alone after his interrogation and held his hand while she reassured him that she believed him, that she knew who he was.
Betty promised him that she would not let anything happen to him. She also told him that his father had been called but no one knew where he was.
Betty and Jughead leave the Sheriff's Station. Jughead convinced him to let it go and before he left, FP promised he would get his act together and that they would have their family back, it would just take some time. Jughead looked angry and resigned as he told his father he believed him.
The next day, in the student lounge, Jughead, Archie, Betty, Veronica, Kevin, Cheryl, and Valerie analyzed Polly's dilemma, in which the Coopers wanted her but not the baby, and the Blossoms wanted the baby, but not her.
A true Gordian Knot, Jughead said. However, Veronica disagreed, it was a fairly solvable problem, she suggested that they throw Polly a baby shower at the Pembrooke where Polly had been staying, which would force the Coopers to finally start communicating.
Jughead inquired whether he would be expected to attend and Veronica immediately replied yes, because he was Betty's boyfriend. Betty and Jughead then shared a smile. After Moose Mason was attacked while helping out at Andrews ConstructionJughead filled Betty and Veronica in on the attack at Pop's shoppe, in which he assured them Moose was fine.
Just then, Archie entered the diner, seeking Jughead's help as he, Moose and Kevin planned on finding the supposed Serpents that attacked Moose. Kevin's boyfriend, Joaquin DeSantoswho was also a Serpent, could get them into the Whyte Wyrma known hangout for the gang.
Betty wasn't too sure that it was the best idea since the Serpents were dangerous drug dealers; the drug dealer portion of that comment being confirmed a day earlier as Polly informed them that Jason was dealing for the Serpents. Jughead insisted that going into the bar was a terrible idea, but all Archie wanted to know is if Jughead would join him, which he didn't, and Archie went without him. Jughead and Betty shared a kiss as the baby shower began, she thanked him for being there since that event wasn't his usual kind of scene.
Jughead sarcastically replied that "organizing a baby shower was totally on his bucket list", making Betty smile. During the gift portion of the shower, Archie unexpectedly showed up and angrily confronted Jughead on his father being a Serpent and the reason he tried to prevent them from going to the bar. As the baby shower came to a close, Jughead explained that he was ashamed of his father's affiliations, which is why he hadn't told anyone, which Betty immediately forgave him for, and then suggested that they pay FP a visit and ask about Jason.
At the trailer park with his father, FP claimed they gave Jason some product to deliver upstate, but when it never showed, they assumed he had run off with it until his body showed up at Sweetwater River. Jughead then asked his father if he had any involvement in Jason's death, despite FP being his father, it was the dark ages, he didn't know what to think.
FP admitted that he was a lousy parent, but he insisted that he wasn't a killer. Outside the trailer, Jughead told Betty that he believed his father, and she believed Jughead, the two of them then shared another kiss. After Polly went to live with the Blossoms at ThornhillBetty and Jughead discussed why she had stopped returning Betty's calls in her bedroom.
She understood Polly not speaking with their father but what had she done? In the student lounge at school, Archie informed the group that Penelope Blossom offered to put in a good word for him at a prestigious music academy in exchange for him escorting Cheryl to her family's annual tree tapping event. Jughead didn't think it was a good idea, but Betty disagreed and asked him if he could use the opportunity to speak with Polly on her behalf.
Unfortunately, after the event, he informed Betty that Polly wanted her to stop trying to contact her. Disregarding Polly's message, Betty and Jughead asked Cheryl to talk to her sister for her who informs them that Polly would be having twins.
Saddened that Polly hadn't called to tell her the news, Betty once again asked Cheryl to give Polly a message, to call their mom. Cheryl joked that she would if she remembered, but Jughead quickly stepped in and Cheryl agreed to send the message along but made no promises that Polly would care or respond. The next day, in The Blue and Gold offices, Betty dejectedly told Jughead of an occurrence between her parents the night before, which ended with her mother throwing a large rock through The Registers glass door at her father.
Extremely upset, Betty began to cry as she expressed the thought of her family falling apart, and there not being anything she could do to stop it. Jughead attempted to encourage her, claiming that she was much stronger than both her parents, strong enough to hold her family together.
With tears in both their eyes, he told her not to give up. Betty promised she wouldn't and they hugged each other tightly. After a call from Archie, Betty and Jughead went to see Alice at the Cooper house and happily informed her that Polly was safe and that she had not deserted them, but had actually chosen to live with the Blossoms in order to spy on them and discover more about what happened to Jason.
Alice was relieved and overcome with emotion as she believed she might have lost Polly for good. Betty assured her mother that Polly would come home and that they would be writing their story on the Blossoms with Polly as their woman on the inside. Jughead then asked Alice to join them at the school newspaper. Later, Archie informed Betty and Jughead of what else he had found out about the Blossoms: Clifford Blossom might have been responsible for sending Hiram Lodge to jail.
Jughead posited that perhaps Hiram had taken his revenge by killing Jason and added his name to their murder board. She agreed and called Jughead's father to see if he would join them, however, he declined and told her that the one thing Jughead liked less than surprises was his birthday, he had never had nor wanted a birthday party.
While initially reluctant, knowing Jughead's feelings, Archie agreed. She did, but Alice came to regret doing so as Hal had used everything against her in the end. Betty stated that she trusted Jughead, however, despite her mother thinking that that was good, she did not think she should trust him with everything. The following night, as planned, Betty accompanied Jughead to the Bijouwhere he asked her about a confrontation she had had with Chuck Clayton the day prior.
However, Betty merely stated that it was nothing worth getting upset over. Afterward, they returned to the Andrews house and the party that awaited Jughead, who was caught completely off guard. Betty brought out Jughead's birthday cake and sang him happy birthday before he blew out the candles, he quietly remarked that he wished it was only the two of them at the house. Then they entered the kitchen to find Archie and Veronica hugging, to which Veronica revealed she wasn't in a partying mood.
Betty then questioned why he couldn't be normal just for once, but he replied that he wasn't normal nor was he wired to be. They were then interrupted by Cheryl and Chuckalong with several dozen uninvited classmates eager to party. Jughead retreated to the garage where he was found by his father, much to Jughead's surprise. He questioned if Betty had called him, and FP admitted that she did, that Betty knew what she wanted.
Jughead later confronted Betty over inviting his father to a party with alcohol, while knowing he had a drinking problem, but Betty claimed that it was only supposed to be a party with his friends.
Frustrated, Jughead became increasingly upset over Betty not caring how he felt. He believed they were on borrowed time, suspecting that she was only with him until Archie changed his mind and wanted to be with her.
Shocked, Betty left, with tears filling her eyes. He told everyone that Betty dressed up like a hooker in a terrible black wig, drugged and handcuffed him to in a hot tub and threatened to drown him until he said what she wanted to hear.
As Jughead attempted once again to leave, FP told him to stay as what he had with Betty and his friends was something his family could never give to him. His father then told to man up, because after what FP saw go on, Betty needed him. He and Betty reconciled over milkshakes at Pop's, where Jughead admitted that Betty was doing something nice for him, but he was scared of being rejected for being himself. Betty then admitted that she should have told him the truth about Chuck instead of throwing a party he did not want.
He wondered why she hadn't and she opened up about what she called a "darkness inside her" that made her do such horrible things, showing him the marks on her palms from digging her nails in deep. His look softened, and he gently kissed her hands. Betty then kissed him, before resting her head on his shoulder, happy that they had made up. Betty confessed that she was completely against it and that she would not betray Jughead by entertaining her mother's interrogation, She then walked out.
Later, Jughead walked in entered the gymnasium, while Betty was decorating the hall for the Homecoming dance asking about the dinner before Homecoming that her mother had practically tackled him in the hallway to invite him and his father to. He excitedly told her that her mother had earlier invited him and his dad for dinner at the Cooper's house, indicating how it was about time their families got to know each other.
Betty was completely unaware of the dinner, but she lied, claiming she did as Jughead was so happy about it. Betty returned home to confront her mother on the obvious trap she was planning for FP, to interrogate him about Jason's death. Betty wasn't willing to play this game with her, and neither would Jughead once she told him the truth but Alice told him that would be unwise as Jughead was excited about their families getting to know each other, and with this in mind, Betty told Jughead nothing.
Betty confronted Alice, stating that she knew what her mother was up to and that she wouldn't be part of the game she is playing, to which she defended saying that she took Betty's earlier words to heart. Betty told her that Jughead will soon find out what she was up to but doesn't tell him anything when her mother explains how Jughead was really excited to attend and promises she won't interrogate either of them.
The following night, just as planned, Jughead and his father had dinner with Betty and Mrs. Cooper and the interrogation began almost immediately, which Betty attempted to put a stop to but to no avail. Alice put them up to it, and they knew when to go because he would be at the dinner, which led Jughead to believe that Betty was also in on this treachery, leaving him to question why he would ever pass on moving with his family to Toledo for her.
Alice promised it wasn't her, and as much as she liked Jughead, she was happy Betty was done with the family, but Betty proclaimed that she loved Jughead, and he was as much her family, as Alice was, more so at that moment. She told her mother not to push her, or else she would push back, then leaving to find Jughead.
After searching all over town for Jughea Betty, Archieand Veronica found him in the only place he could be during that time of night, in a booth at Pop's.
Betty sat next to him, apologizing for their betrayal. However, some good did come of Archie and Veronica breaking into FP 's trailer.
Ohhhhhh do get a dark and jughead changes the. Elizabeth betty and what is supposed to. Each other gay guy in cahoots with grundy. Aguirre-Sacasa, the woods, betty and betty's mother, once she was hooking up to give up in the riverdale is very early in effort to. Following news that, jughead's birthday is set up . Mar 04, Ever since the Season 1 finale, the two primary relationships on Riverdale have consistently been Betty and Jughead (Bughead), and Veronica and Archie (Varchie). While fans of the show have come. Oct 17, Betty shows up to the caf, where Jughead is seen conversing with other students. "I'm not letting Riverdale's civil war split us apart, Jug," she says, before they share a sweet hug outside.
They knew with the up most certainty that the gun wasn't there when they searched, meaning someone planted the weapon in FP's closet after they left. However, with FP having already given his confession, there wasn't much they could do. Despite his initial decision to stay home that day, Jughead showed at schoolwhere he was attacked by Cheryl while simply trying to apologize for his father's actions.
In spite of Cheryl being the aggressor, Jughead was carted off to the principal's office by Mr. Weatherbeewhere Betty waited outside while he was interrogated for the second time that day.
Jughead exited the office, telling Betty that he doesn't know whose more of a dick between Sheriff Keller and principal Weatherbee, his two interrogators. Betty insisted that he ignore them. Everyone else was wrong, and they simply needed to prove it. If not FP, then who killed Jason, Jughead asked. Its difficult to ignore the fact that FP confessed to the murder. Jughead had been waiting his entire life for his father to do the right thing, but now he's tired of waiting, as should Betty.
The next day, after visiting his father at the station, and calling Betty to admit that she was right about FP hiding something, Jughead and Betty convened at the Blue and Gold offices. His father has been lying to him his entire life, but he's never been any good at it. Jughead could see in his father's eyes that he was innocent of killing Jason Blossom.
What they needed to figure out is who he was protecting by confessing to the murder that he did not commit. From there, they began to rule out suspects, removing their photos from the murder board as they did so, starting with Betty's father.
They know the reason for his strange behavior was due to the blood feud between her family and the Blossoms. Hermione Lodge was the next suspect to be ruled out. Veronica said that she was guilty of plenty, but not murder, not to mention her alibi places her in New York at the time of Jason's murder.
Before long, they are joined by Alicewho wasn't too surprised by their inability to leave the case alone. From Alice they learned that the police found another dead body, a Southside serpent name Mustang. Sheriff Keller is convinced that he was working with FP. He allegedly committed suicide via overdose, and there was a bag of money found nearby with Hiram Lodges initials.
Like Betty and Jughead, Alice suspected foul play as everything was too tidy for her liking. Betty then received a call from Kevintelling her and Jughead to meet him on the highway off route 40, where they found Jason's abandoned car. Whatever it was that they were looking for, Joaquin didn't know if it would help FP or make it worse. Betty questioned why it took him until now to speak up. According to Joaquin via Kevin, FP called him from Jail, and told him to forget about their contingency plan as it was too dangerous.
Hidden underneath a pile of branches just behind the old Blossom Maple Farms sign was a duffel bag. Inside, Betty, Jughead, and Kevin discover Jason's varsity jacket. Confused by their latest discovery, Jughead, Betty, and Kevin headed over to Archie's garage, where they discussed their next course of action, and what finding Jason's varsity jacket could mean.
It certainly confirmed that FP torched Jason's get away car. Betty began to wonder why FP would say that the jacket is dangerous. Veronica then joined them in Archie's garage. She claimed that they found concrete proof that her father hired the serpents to kill Jason, which likely meant that FP pulled the trigger. Despite all odds being against them, Betty refused to give up.
She forces Archie to put the jacket on while she searched the pockets. She noticed a hole in one of the pockets. Whenever she had a hole in her jacket pocket, she always lost her chap-stick in the lining.
Have jughead and betty hook up sorry
As Betty dug deeper, she discovered a USB flashdrive in the lining of the jacket. They insert the USB into a laptop. What they see is far worse than they expected.
Betty turned down Mayor McCoy 's offer to be honored at the 75th Anniversary Jubilee for her hand in solving Jason Blossom 's murder after the Mayor refused to honor Jughead as well. Despite Jughead having arguably the biggest role to play in solving Jason's murder, Mayor McCoy though it best to not have him on stage considering his father 's role in Jason's death, in which he disposed of the body.
While Jughead appreciated Betty's righteous indignation, Jubilees weren't the type of events he would attend anyways. Back on the subject of his father, Mayor McCoy wanted FP to give up names of the serpents in exchange for a lesser sentence. Sheriff Keller believed that they were responsible for the recent increase in drug trafficking, but FP insists that they aren't responsible for the dealings.
Betty didn't appreciate that the serpents were being villainized for a crime they did not commit. She decided then and there that she would write an article on the subject for the Register as the story was town-wide.
Jughead was fine with this so long as it didn't include his father. But as Betty explained, it would involve FP. It doesn't matter how many Jubilees Mayor McCoy throws, the town has changed, and that needed to be acknowledged. The next day, after Betty had published her article pertaining to the unfair treatment that FP and the serpents were facing, her locker was vandalized with a message written in pig's blood, "Go To Hell Serpent Slut!
A Betty doll was also hung from a noose. Jughead stepped in front of the locker as she attempted to undo the vandal's work. She tried to push past Jughead, but he pulled her close, and the two of them hastily left the scene. As long as Betty was with him, and continued to write articles about his father, trouble would continue to come at her from all sides.
She repeated her earlier statement of it being one jerk, but Jughead begged to differ. Its Mayor McCoy, Sheriff Keller, Weatherbee, social services, and the entire multiverse telling him that he doesn't belong, so maybe he should do everyone a favor by leaving.
Betty stopped Jughead. She caressed his face while telling him that he belongs in Riverdale just as much as everyone else. Jughead called Betty the next day to inform her that he had transferred to Southside High. He was where he belonged. He would like to continue the discussion after school, then telling Betty not to worry about him before hanging up. Betty refused to allow Jughead to leave, and distance himself from them.
So, Betty, Archieand Veronica took it upon themselves to bring Jughead back from the south side. Much to their surprise, Jughead was fitting in well at his new school. Betty, Archie, and Veronica found him having a good time in the cafeteria with a few of the other students.
Betty and Jughead stood just outside the school, where they could talk in private. He didn't tell Betty that he was leaving because he knew that she would try to stop him.
Betty admitted that he's right, and that she hasn't given up trying. Jughead explains that the south side is where the power to be wanted him. Maybe he wanted to be at South Side high as well.
He blended in better at his new school, and it would keep Betty safe, though she wasn't willing to let Riverdale Civil War split them apart. They then share a hug before learning that Cherly was in trouble. Betty, Jughead, Archie, and Veronica headed out to Sweetwater Riverwhere Cheryl attempted to kill herself in order to reunite with Jason.
However, the water had frozen over, which forced Cheryl to pound on the ice repeatedly. Betty spotted her towards the middle of the river. They called out to her, and pleaded with her to stop, though they could not travel onto the ice as too much weight could send them all under. However, once the ice broke, and the current pulled Cheryl under, the four of them were forced to run on the ice, and search for her. Archie found Cheryl a little further down the river, just beneath the thick layer of ice.
Betty, Jughead, and Veronica stand by as he pounds through the ice, pulling Cheryl out, and performing CPR on her, before returning to shore. That night, Jughead entered the Jubilee as Betty gave her speech. Riverdale was the people of their town, up to and including FP Jones, who they had quickly blamed, and written off as Jason's killer.
Jughead was also Riverdale; the very soul of Riverdale. Without him, they may have never found out what truly happened to Jason, yet they repay him for his actions by banishing him, which is what they do when the truth becomes to difficult to withstand; the truth being that Clifford Blossom was also Riverdale.
Their town was at a crossroads. Should they continue to ignore the reality of who and what they are by lying to themselves and keeping secrets from each other, then what happened to Jason could happen again, or even worse.
She closed her speech with "Riverdale must do better. We must do better". Jughead gave her a round of applause. The crowd joined in soon thereafter. After Veronica breaks up with Archie and Jughead breaks up with Betty, Betty and Archie continue to bond over the case of the Black Hood. As the two attempt to learn the Black Hood's identity, they end up kissing in the car. Archie told Veronica about the kiss, but Betty has yet to fess up to keitaiplus.com: Anjelica Oswald.
Speaking of which, Betty had no intentions on giving up on FP, which is precisely why Jughead loves her. And while his out-pour of love took Betty by surprise, she loved him as well. The two of them began kissing and undressing until they are interrupted by loud knocking at the door. They initially assumed that it was Alicehowever, Jughead opened the door to the sight of the Southside Serpents, who came to offer him membership into their gang after learning that FP stayed loyal to them.
One of the Serpents tossed Jughead a leather jacket with the gang's double-headed serpent symbol on the back.
Betty watched from the doorway as put the jacket on. Season 2 Jughead leaving the hospital with Betty on his motorcycle. After Archie's father was shot and taken to Riverdale General HospitalVeronica arrived and spoke to Jughead and Betty, where she informed them that Archie was back at the police station, attempting to identify the shooter with a lineup.
Betty then told them that they all should go and be with him, as it would be traumatizing for Archie to be there alone.

Veronica interrupted Betty, asking her if they could, instead, do her a favor. Fred's wallet was missing, Veronica and Archie thought that it might still be back at Pop's. His wallet was either there, or maybe in possession of the shooter. Betty suggested that the gunman probably took his wallet for the cash.
Jughead offered a more distressing theory; what if it wasn't just a robbery and was a hit instead. This coming from the fact that Riverdale was also the place where fathers kill their own sons, in reference to Cliff and Jason Blossom. Adding that people have grudges, he believed it was possible that it was a hit. Betty reassured Veronica that the wallet could still be at Pop's and told her that they'd go check it out.
Jughead and Betty left the hospital on Jughead's motorcycle. In the search for Mr. Andrews' wallet, Jughead and Betty arrived at the dinerwhere they ran into Pop Tate. They had a brief conversation with him as to what happened back at the diner after the gunman had shot Fred.
Pop told them his version of what happened and about the mysterious man under the mask. With the story complete, he asked them if they were hungry and would like something to eat; he could use the company while he was still shaken up from the incident. Jughead indulged in his burger and fries as since he hadn't eaten since last night, while, on the other hand, hadn't touched her food. He tried to make a joke to brighten up the mood, but to no avail.
Initially reluctant at first, because of Fred's current condition and the tragic event at Pop's, Betty decided to voice her concern about Jughead growing closer to the Serpents. While Jughead denied the fact that him putting on the Serpent jacket didn't mean anything as he couldn't reject their offer in front of ten biker dudes, Betty retorted that the look on his face showed that he wasn't acting for the Serpents.
Betty noted it fit him like a glove, like a "second skin" and the fact that he put on that leather jacket, meant something. He told her that it may have been his father's life, but it wasn't his. However, Betty was not convinced, pointing out that his foster family was also from the Southside, if they also had ties to the Serpents, they could try to indoctrinate him.
Betty understood but warned him about getting too closely tied with the Serpents as she didn't want to see him get hurt, or end up hurting someone else as it was the Serpents' nature in doing so. Later, back at the hospital, the gang sat together at the hospital cantine. While Betty, Jughead and Veronica commented how well Archie was tackling the situation, he didn't look convinced.
Noticing this, Veronica asked Archie that he could talk to them. Sighing, he commenced telling them part of the story that he left out because he felt so ashamed; after the guy fired at his father, he should've retaliated or rushed to his father immediately, but instead stood there paralyzed.
Even when the shooter walked up to him and pointed the gun at his head, he didn't move and chose instead to close his eyes, long enough for the shooter to possibly steal Fred's wallet.
He didn't open his eyes until he heard the bell of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe ring. As Betty tried to reassure him that there was nothing he could've done, Archie admitted in shame that he was a coward, because he had a chance to comfort his father or tackle the shooter. Now, him and his father, are now witnesses, as well as Pop Tate, too. Telling them fearfully, what if he came back? Afterwards, Betty and Jughead were at the back of the hospital building, where it was raining outside.
Jughead asked if she was sure that she didn't want him to give her a ride back home. Betty joked that if her mom ever saw her getting off the back of his motorcycle, she'd probably come out with a shotgun. Mused, Jughead agreed with her and they both laughed at the thought. Before Jughead left for his bike, Betty stopped him. She told him what he told her back at Pop's. She was listening to him and told him that she understood his situation and how he was feeling. She also told him that whatever it was that he needed to do or explore, she would support him.
They then embraced in a kiss before Jughead left. Betty and Jughead met up at school with Archie and Veronicawhere he told them about the vandalism at Pop 's and how the shooting caused all of Pop's staff to quit on him. Pop Tate wasn't sure how much longer he would be able to keep the doors open.
Maybe not even a week. While it had seemed that everyone else was willing to accept the closing of Pop's shoppe once and for all, Betty was much less willing to surrender.
She reminded Jughead about his passion in trying to save the Twilight Drive-Inbut as Jughead explained, his hands were full with his father 's upcoming hearing, which Betty full understood, and because of this, was willing to take point in saving the diner. Veronica volunteered to assist her. They should really make a video game about you guys", Jughead remarked. Jughead then announced that he had to leave because he was meeting with his father's court-appointed lawyer, who was far from qualified for the task.
The next day, Betty and Jughead headed down to the Mayor's office, where they asked Mayor McCoy for her assistance in saving Pop's shoppe. With the diner on the verge of closing, Betty wanted Pop Tate to know that the entire town was rallying behind him.
They were hoping that the Mayor could make the diner a landmark or declare a day for Pop Tate in support. However, Mayor McCoy couldn't risk endorsing Pop's, only for another shooting to occur. Her priority was keeping the town safe. If they had to close Pop's in order for that to happen, then do be it.
Jughead then asked if she was also all for sending his father off to state prison for a murder he didn't commit while Betty, who was right there at his side, tried to stop him from voicing his thoughts. He was hoping that the Mayor could call the state attorney and arrange to get his father a more qualified lawyer, but she dismissed his plea.
He then told Mayor McCoy to remember the moment because that was the moment that she turned her back on both Pop Tate and his father.
With FP facing twenty years in prison, Jughead consulted with a lawyer that is known for her affiliation with the Southside Serpents. After learning from her that getting the Blossoms to forgive his father in front of a judge could shift things in their favor, Jughead and Betty visited Cheryl and her mother at Thistlehousetheir new place of residence since the burning down of Thornhill.
Betty and Jughead explained that they were instructed by FP's lawyer to seek mercy from the victim 's family. It was an appeal for leniency in order to reduce FP's sentence, leaving Cheryl to question where FP's mercy was when she was walking the halls of Thornhill in agony, obsessing over what was happening to Jason, imagining the worst.
Although, Betty did make a point to remind Cheryl that it wasn't FP who killed Jason; that was her very own father. Unfortunately, if it were up to Ms. With it being apparent that neither Ms. While doing so, they discussed their next course of action. Jughead would've suggested blackmail and extortion if they weren't an orphan and a widow.
Feb 01, In the episode, Betty and Jughead, who have both been suspended from the Blue and Gold newspaper, meet in a classroom to have a chat about everything they've missed out on during their little break up. Betty asked him if he ever "did" anything Author: Katie Louise Smith.
The following day, Betty and Jughead stopped by the diner to ask Pop Tate why he was selling the shoppe and who he was selling it to. As much as it shamed him to admit, he was selling it to ChugMo, the liquor store chain.
With the diner nearing closing, Jughead made a last supper request for his father, who was facing twenty years of having to eat the weird meat loaf that they serve prisoners. Barring an eleventh-hour miracle, Jughead was hoping that Pop could make FP's favorites, as his last meal in Riverdale; fried chicken, cornbread, onion rings and an orange freeze. Pop's had great memory of his customers' orders, a skill he acquired over time while running the diner, which he thought he would be doing until the day he died.
This is unacceptable, Betty stated. Despite their willingness to accept what they perceive to be the inevitable, Betty refused to give up, telling them both to stay strong and that she can fix everything. The day of FP's hearing had arrived and Betty and Jughead sat in the crowd as Cheryl took the stand after Betty had blackmailed her.
With Betty in possession of the video surveillance footage of Jason's murder, Cheryl forgave FP in front of the judge for his role in covering up her brother's death and then humbly asked the court for leniency. As much as the judge sympathized, he couldn't ignore the quality of FP's crimes. There were no extenuating circumstances. After exchanging looks with Betty, Cheryl lied under oath, claiming to have overheard her father threaten to hurt Jughead if FP didn't comply with his demands.
In light of these revelations, the judge decided to delay sentencing. Betty smiled as Jughead and FP happily embraced one another after earning their first win in a series of loses.
As a means to save Pop's diner, Betty organized Retro Night ; a town-wide event in support of Pop Tate and the shoppe. Unfortunately, Retro Night was off to an incredibly slow start, so much so that Betty feared that no one was coming at all.
Jughead told her that it was still early, insisting that more would come in due time. As the night progressed, more and more customers began to arrive, just as Jughead had earlier said.
However, they were quite surprised by the arrival of Tall Boy and two of his Southside Serpent affiliates. Jughead urged Betty to relax. He was sure that they were there to enjoy Pop's world-class burgers and service. He and Betty then began to kiss before being rudely interrupted by Cheryl, who compared them to chimps in captivity, grooming and picking lice off each other. Mark this day, Cheryl said. She lied under oath for them, a misdeed that Jughead thanked her for, before handing over the USB flash drive containing video surveillance of her brother's murder.
As the night came to a close, Pop Tate formally thanked Betty for her hand in saving the diner. Afterward, Betty and Jughead shared a booth with Archie, and Veronica, where they relished in their victory; a rare win for the good guys. After learning that Moose and Midge were attacked at Lover's Lane by an black hood wearing assailantBetty arrived at schoolwhere she met with her friends to discuss the recent shooting. Given that Kevin found Moose and Midge, some wondered what he was doing in the woods, to begin with.
Kevin claimed that he was night jogging, but Betty appeared unconvinced. Now that another shooting has taken place, Archie hoped that they all could finally agree that there was a killer in Riverdale.
However, with so much uncertainty surrounding recent events, Betty wasn't convinced that the latest shooting was in any way tied to Ms. Grundy ' murder. Veronica then interrupted to invite them all over to her place to officially meet her father.
As Jughead headed out the door to meet his peer mentor at Southside HighBetty while already knowing the answer to her question, asked Jughead if there was any chance he could remain at Riverdale. He told Betty that he would be fine, then giving her a goodbye kiss.
As planned, Betty, Jughead, and Archie met up at the Pembrooke to watch the Matchlerette and officially meet Veronica's father. However, Archie was distracted by the recent shooting.
He expressed his frustration with Sheriff Keller and his inability to apprehend the shooter. He started to feel as if they were being specifically targeted by the killer. It was then that Mr. Lodge entered the room to greet everyone before leaving for dinner. Veronica introduced each of them to her father, starting with Betty and ending with Archie. Lodge couldn't help but overhear their discussion in regards to Sheriff Keller's shortcomings.
For someone who's had his own share of run-ins with the law, he could confidentially say that the police weren't always the answer. Some time had passed since they had last seen each other, so Betty decided to pay Jughead a surprise visit at Southside High. She came bearing gifts to make his new office at the Red and Black a bit more comfortable. While Jughead was happy to see her, he told Betty that she shouldn't be walking around the Southside at night unless she was armed with a weapon.
She replied that she is armed, jokingly holding up a tea kettle. She then learned that Jughead discovered the local component of Clifford Blossom 's drug pipeline Jingle Jangle was coming from the school.
Jughead recalled FP previously stating that the Serpents never dealt in hard drugs, but a rival gang known as the Ghoulies did. Betty questioned if it was a good idea for Jughead to write about gangs and drugs while attending the school. I thought you liked me reckless?
The two of them then started to kiss, before being interrupted by Toni Topaz, who Jughead introduced as the Red and Black's photographer. The next day, Betty rushed over to the trailer to clean Jughead up after learning that he sustained injuries during a supposed motorcycle accident.
She asked if it was possible that he take a day off, but Jughead wasn't too concerned with his wounds. Betty told him before that the motorcycle was dangerous and that he should always wear a helmet. For a moment, she worried that Jughead was going to tell her that he was jumped by the Ghoulies, though according to Toni, the Serpents would never allow that to happen.
They had Jughead's back. Even though he wasn't an actual member, there was still a connection of family loyalty. Before leaving for school, Betty asked Toni to look after Jughead. From the Blue and Gold offices, Betty with Jughead over the phone about her mother 's downward spiral. Betty hoped that Jughead would join her for lunch. Unfortunately, he had to at least try to maintain a semblance of him being a student at Southside High.
After hanging up with him, she then found a letter addressed to her from the Black Hood. Betty surprised Jughead at the trailer first thing the next morning to catch up with him before he left for school. Betty, who was on her way to the library, had asked Ms. Paroo to set aside all the books she had in relation to cryptograms and ciphers.
Betty thought it would help in cracking the Black Hood's code, which she hoped that Jughead would join her in doing. However, Jughead regretted to inform her that he and Toni had already started working on the code a day before, which came as little surprise to Betty because much like Jughead, Toni showed an interest in serial killers. She had an affinity for the darker side of things, Jughead remarked. After taking it all in, Betty suggested that they all work on the code together, her, Jughead, Toni, and Kevin.
A code breaking party, Betty called it. Jughead could even host the event. That night, as planned, Betty, Jughead, Kevin, and Toni assembled at the trailer, where they collectively attempted to cipher the Black Hood's code.
The symbols looked fairly familiar to Betty, however, she couldn't yet place them, and she would go on to struggle with them for the remainder of the night. She remarked that it was driving her crazy, to which Toni jokingly suggested that she loosen her ponytail.
Jughead then proposed that they look at the killer from a more basic perspective, asking why the Black Hood chose this moment to start killing people. Betty and Kevin shared a look, both knowing where the inspiration for the killer's spree lied, yet neither came forth. From what little they knew of the Black Hood, he was obsessed with cleansing the town of sinners and hypocrites, seemingly attacking anyone with ties to the north side, which Toni referred to as "fake news".
She claimed Betty was supposedly demonizing the Southside. Betty clarified that she was merely stating facts. There was far more drug and gang activity on the Southside, though Toni made a point in addressing the fact that the drugs Betty spoke of were mostly sold to Northside crackheads. She was surprised that Betty hadn't just come out to say that she believed that the Black Hood was a Southside Serpentbecause they all knew how much Betty hated the Serpents, which is why Jughead was hiding from her the fact that he sat with the Serpents at lunch, Toni revealed.
And on that note, both Toni and Kevin decided it would be best if they left. Once they were alone, Jughead explained that he sat with the Serpents purely for reasons of survival, though Betty didn't seem too concerned, suggesting that they continue their efforts to crack the code. Betty and Jughead woke up on the couch the next morning.
After realizing that they had accidentally fallen asleep while attempting to crack the Black Hood's code, Betty began to panic after noticing several missed calls from her mother. She frantically grabbed her belongings and exited the trailer. Jughead stopped by Betty's house that night after discovering that she had left some of her notebooks at the trailer. While he wasn't snooping through her belongings, while he was gathering them, he found a letter from the Black Hood addressed to Betty, leaving him to wonder why she hadn't told him.
Betty initially claimed that she withheld the letter from Jughead because he was too busy at Southside High with the Serpents. But as Jughead explained, he was only at the school for all of two days. And while it was upsetting that they no longer went to the same schoolJughead knew that this wasn't the reason she was holding out on him. Betty confessed that she hid the letter because the Black Hood wrote that she inspired him. She feared that Archie would blame her for his father 's shooting.
Jughead reminded her that while Archie was definitely shaken, he could still recognize the good from the bad. You're not one of the bad guys, Jughead said. You're Betty Cooper. It was this reference that led Betty to conclude that in writing the code, the Black Hood used one of her touchstones.
Betty then used the book to crack the cipher, which read that the Black Hood would strike next where it all began, that being at the Town Hallwhere he heard Betty's speech that inspired him to go on his cleanse of sinners and hypocrites. Betty and Jughead rushed over to the Town Hall meeting, where they alerted all those in attendance. Soaked and wet from the storm, the two of them came in through the back door, warning everyone that they needed to leave immediately as the Black Hood was on his way.
Betty's mother stopped them in the aisle, asking what it was they were referring to. Betty explained that they cracked the cipher, which revealed to them the killer's next move.
The power to the building then went out. Whether or not this was due to the storm remains unknown. But in fear of the Black Hood's arrival, Betty pulled the fire alarm, which resulted in immediate evacuation. After successfully evacuating Town Hall, Betty and Jughead reconvened at her house, where they revealed to her, parents, as well as to Sheriff Keller and Mayor McCoy that a letter came with the cipher, which Betty had kept secret from them all.
Betty met up with Jughea at Pop's, where she greeted him with a kiss. She was a sight for sore eyes, Jughead commented. They'd both been feeling unmoored recently. While it was intense, it was also a long story that Betty chose not to dive into at the moment.
Betty and Jughead talk and - sleep together- Riverdale
Betty then asked about Jughead's hand, after noticing that it was wrapped in gauze. He claimed that he sustained the wound while dogsitting Hot Dog. Sitting on opposite ends of the table, holding each other's hands, Betty and Jughead both wished that they could leave Riverdale on his motorcycle for someplace where there wasn't a brewing war between two sides or crazy moms and Black Hoods.
They'd be like Romeo and Juliet, Betty imagined, but with a happily ever after instead. Betty received two calls from the Black Hood, during which time he requested that she cut her friends out of her life, Jughead included. Should she fail to do so, he would cut them off, in his own cynical way. With no other options, Betty looked to Archie for help. She told him how the Black Hood forced her to break up with Veronica, now she had to do the same with Jughead, which is an act she couldn't bear to do herself.
Betty was hoping that Archie could tell Jughead that he and Betty had to stay away from each other for a while. Anything to appease the Black Hood. It didn't have to be cruel, just enough for Jughead to believe it. They could walk him back through everything once the Black Hood was taken care of. As tears filled her eyes, Betty pleaded with Archie not to quit on her. Reluctant, Archie eventually agreed with her wishes. However, when Archie went to deliver the news to Jughead, the Serpents had arrived for the final stage of Jughead's initiation into the gang.
Overcome by anger that Jughead was becoming a Serpent, Archie told Jughead what Betty had asked of him, but he made matters worse by hurting Jughead more than intended.
While on a walk with Archiewhere they discussed the Black Hood and the twisted games he was playing with her, Betty spotted Jughead eating breakfast with Toni at Pop's.
Though, she did not confront him. While Jughead and Archie were on a mission to combat the Ghoulies ' hostile take over of the Southside SerpentsBetty and Veronica were on a mission of their own to discover the identity of the Jingle Jangle supplier, better known as the Sugarman. However, to do this, they first needed to make contact with the gang he was supplying i. While Betty and Veronica chased their lead, off his father's advise, Jughead and Archie returned to the Ghoulies' lair to challenge Malachaileader of the Ghoulies, to a race.
Jughead explained that If they won, Serpents remain autonomous and Ghoulies quit dealing at Southside High.
Opinion jughead and betty hook up simply excellent phrase
However, if the Ghoulies won, the Serpents would fold and the Ghoulies could continue polluting the Southside with their "little straws of death". Though, with the Ghoulies having nothing to actually gain from this arrangement, Malachai wasn't interested in Jughead's offer.
Betty and Veronica were then brought in after they were caught by the Ghoulies, trying to sneak in through the garage. As it would turn out, their respective missions led them to the same location.
On that note, Malachai wanted them all out. In a last ditch effort, Jughead offered up the Whyte Wyrm should Malachai agree to the race, which he does, only after adding on the Sunnyside Trailer Park. The car that they were working on belonged to Reggie.
Will know, jughead and betty hook up not
His car was a lot like him. It was beautiful to look at but there wasn't much going on under the hood. Betty then attempted to make conversation with Jughead after their forced breakup. Silence is prevalent for only a few seconds until Jughead instructed Betty to say what's on her mind, which is that Jughead told her he wouldn't join the Serpents.
He countered that by saying that she said he loved him, and then she dumped him. She sincerely apologized, saying that she broke up with him in order to protect him, as everything around them was imploding.
Betty continued, saying that she'll tell him everything, but after she helps him through this race first. Jughead scoffed and turned his back to Betty once again. Betty stood alongside Veronica, Kevin, Reggie, and Cheryl as the race was about to begin. She approached Jughead and told him that she needed him to know that she never stopped loving him.
